European Sales Manager

Role

You will be a key member of the commercial team, and serve the core function of leading sales activities in Europe with a focus on European petfood buyers and aquaculture feed producers. You will provide strategic support to the Sales & Marketing Director, as well as working closely with the other Sales Managers and Marketing team to develop sales strategies for existing and new products. You will have account management and new business responsibilities, as well as internal team management & budget responsibilities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales

  • Identifying, engaging & closing deals with European (petfood) clients, with the objective of absorbing 75% of insect meal production capacity 

  • Engaging new potential buyers, developing and maintaining customer relationships through strong account management to optimise sales value

  • Ensuring that NT has a highly visible presence in the European petfood & aquaculture sector, and that our value proposition and marketing messaging is developed effectively for those clients 

ACTIVITIES

Key activities will include, but are not limited to;

 

Sales

  • Developing strategies for maximising the revenue from our production output, with a focus on European petfood & aquafeed, prioritizing customers able to commit to long-term off-takes agreements

  • Drafting, implementing & supervising annual, quarterly and monthly activity plans.

  • Developing leads and closing international sales, through attending conferences & expos.

  • Closing and managing Key Accounts for European petfood and aquafeed players

  • Understanding the sales cycle, identifying bottlenecks and hurdles, and developing innovative solutions.

  • Management of the Project-focused budget plan and expenditure.

  • Analysing sales data and taking responsibility for adapting strategies.

  • Establish and closely monitor sales KPIs, and track and review efficiencies of sales and promotional activities

 

Others

  • Supporting the Marketing team to develop materials suitable for new sales channels and customer support strategies.

  • Line management of the Graphic designer and future Marketing team members

  • Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you by the management from time to time either within or out of your category of employment must perform accordingly. 

Requirements & Person Specifications

  • Conducting research and analysing data using LC-MS and HPLC

  • Handling pathogens and conducting microbiology experiments

  • Writing protocols and scientific reports 

  • Conducting trials to intersect upstream lab research to factory scale development

  • Working independently and also as part of a team

  • Present research findings and participating in in group discussions 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, sales, or relevant field, Master's degree preferred.

  • At least 6 years’ experience in sales or account management, and ideally at least 2 years’ experience of managing key accounts.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools (eg SalesForce or Zoho CRM), forecasting & reporting.

  • Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.

  • Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions.

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English to non-native english speakers, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.

  • Strong computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.

  • Knowledge and experience of a multinational company is preferred.

  • You must be driven by a challenge and have the agility and flexibility to adapt to a very fast growing company.

  • You must be self-motivated and responsible enough to work independently on large projects.

  • Strong attention to detail, with a high level of self-management.

  • Goal oriented, ambitious and target driven.

  • Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead.

Reporting Lines & Supervision

  • You will report to the Sr Sales & Account Manager, and will work closely with the Sales & Marketing Director, other Sales Managers and the Marketing Team.

  • You will generally work from home, with an expectation for regional travel for events and client meetings. You will be required to attend meetings and activities on-site in Malaysia as needed.
